Many shoppers don’t realize how important the test drive step is in your buying process! If you don’t test drive your prospective vehicle or take the test drive seriously, you could potentially purchase a vehicle you don’t really like...and that would be bad! But with so much information being thrown at you during a test drive, forgetting to ask crucial questions is not uncommon. So we want to help ensure you rock your next test drive and have more confidence when it comes to the buying or leasing process! So take a few minutes to review our checklist below! And even feel free to print it out and take it with you on your next test drive! Come Prepared Make sure you’ve done your research and know exactly what you’re looking for To prepare make sure you can answer these questions… What kind of space do you need? Do you feel like you have enough room? What kind of budget do you have? Once you’ve answered those questions, it’s time to find 2 or 3 vehicles that fit the criteria you’re looking for. Once you have done that be sure to schedule test drives for those vehicles Take Your Test Drive In Familiar Territory If the dealership is local this should be easy, if not, take it on the highway and down back roads/ neighborhood or area that is similar to your area. Make sure to test it both busy and light traffic, and be sure to park the car to see how different it is from your old vehicle. Test ALL Of The Features You might think you need the backup camera or other fun available features, but they won’t be worth it if you don’t know how to use them. Don’t be afraid to ask your sales consultant to show you how to use them and be sure to try them out on the road! Take A Seat In Every Seat Even if you’ll be spending most of your time in the driver’s seat, it’s important to try out the vehicle from every perspective...you wouldn’t want your passengers to be uncomfortable, right? Sit in the passenger seat, the back seat, fold down the second row, pop the trunk, look under the hood. Explore every different way the vehicle might be used to make sure that it will work for you and your needs. How Do You Feel About The Vehicle? First impressions can have a big impact on your decision making. Don’t just focus on the fun features the vehicle has, be sure to pay attention to how you feel inside the vehicle. A few things to ask yourself during your test should be… Can you see yourself driving this vehicle daily? Do you feel like you have enough room? Is it easy to get in and out of? Do you like the placement of the controls? Is it what you expected? Now you’ve got the information you need to make the most of your next test drive, so the time has come to browse our inventory and schedule a test drive for the Volkswagen you desire! Your driver’s license: Your I.D. is proof that you are a legally registered driver, this is important since you have to drive off the lot. Your driver’s license is a way to identify that the check or another form of payment is actually yours, too. Your payment form: Whether it is a bank, credit union, or personal check, pre-approved loan, or any other payment form - be sure to bring it. If you are planning to put money towards a down payment you will need some way to pay for it. Proof of insurance: In order to drive your new vehicle off the lot, you will need proof of insurance. It’s a good idea to call your insurance company ahead of time and add the new vehicle to your existing policy. You’ll need the car’s VIN number to set this up. You can also call from the dealership and have them fax or email the insurance card to the dealership. Title/ Registration for your trade-in: If you are trading in a vehicle, be sure to bring the title. If you have a co-signer or a lien against the car, get the appropriate signature ahead of time. This part can be tricky and sometimes causes a hold-up. Give the dealership a call if you are unsure how to go about this. Also, you will need a copy of your current registration. Loan account number: If you are trading in a vehicle and still owe on your loan, bring the loan account number. This number is on one of your pay stubs. You can also call the lender beforehand and ask how to facilitate the transaction. Find Your Dream VW Today!

Stage your car Just like selling your home, your vehicle should be as clean as you can get. Yes, dealers can tell if the vehicle's performance is in good shape or not regardless of how clean it is but the better it looks could really go the extra mile when it comes to the offer price. Have Receipts handy Keeping records and receipts. If so, when the day arrives to finally trade your vehicle, you can show the dealer receipts for all the purchases and repair work done on the car. We get it, life is crazy busy at times and when you’re living a fast-paced life, the last thing on your mind is to keep your car clean. However, your car is where you spend a good portion of your day… whether it’s driving to and from work, running errands, or meeting up with friends. Luckily for you, we have some tips on how you can get your vehicle cleaned up and looking fresh to death in four simple steps! So take a few minutes to check out the tips below and get started on getting your Volkswagen looking fresh again! Oh, and if you need maintenance help for you VW, be sure to check out our available maintenance packages right here at King VW! Step 1: Sort and clean Take everything out of the car, including car seats, music, and miscellaneous items stored in the glove box and door pockets. Don't forget the trunk and cargo area! Organize the rest of the items into three piles: stuff you use all the time, things you use occasionally and items you might need in an emergency. Whatever doesn't fall into these categories should be stored in your home or garage. Step 2: Analyze Ask yourself, "How do I use my car?" Are you the taxi driver? Maybe you’re a parent with two toddlers in car seats or a salesman who travels with a trunkload of samples. Whatever it is, figure it out. Step 3: Prioritize Depending upon your needs, go through your three piles and prioritize the most important items in each group And just like seasonal clothes in a closet, many items such as ice scrapers and emergency kits should be stored back into your vehicle Step 4: Contain your needs Loose objects in the car lead to disorganization and mess. In the event of a sudden stop or a crash, they can also damage your car or, worse, injure your occupants. Get yourself a good organizer to keep all of your items concise and easy to access. We’ve got a secret to tell you! Did you know right now is the best time for you to slip behind the wheel of a new Volkswagen? New models: We have new models coming in every week and limited space which means we need to sell 2019 models for the new year models coming in. September, October, November, and December are the months that manufacturers are typically trying to make room for new models on dealer lots. Come December, prices will hit a low for the year. For a buyer, these factors work in your favor to save money. Holiday Shopping: Yeah we know, thinking of buying a car during the most expensive holiday season might sound crazy, but during the holiday season cars continuously lower. This is where Black Friday sales have kicked in, as well as low prices in December. Holiday Bonuses: More than half of Americans will receive a monetary end-of-year bonus. With a little extra cash coming in, it might be time to say goodbye to your old ride and hello to a new reliable one. Smooth Commuting: There might be a sense of worry about whether your older vehicle can make it through another tough winter. If year after year you worry about commuting in the winter weather, it might be time to stop in and get yourself a reliable vehicle that can get you through the weather. Having the upper hand: When traffic is down at a dealership, salespeople can usually take more time to explain in-depth about a car you are interested in, show you similar models, review features, safety concerns and more. You might also have the upper hand due to a lack of customers and win an unbeatable deal! Sign Then Drive These Deals All The Way Home!

Fall is in full swing and before you know it it will be that time of the year where the snow is falling. There is no better time than NOW to invest in a great new set of tires for your vehicle. When it comes to tires, there are a lot of options out there, and feeling overwhelmed is normal. One question you might find yourself asking is should I be purchasing all-season tires that are built for all year round performance or winter tires that are specifically made for winter weather performance. Lucky for you we have the information you’ll need in this week’s blog. Once you’ve decided on which tire to choose, be sure to shop our online tire store to find the right tires for your Volkswagen! Many vehicles on the road are driving with all-season tires. In fact, many vehicles are fitted with all-season tires when they leave the factory. The appeal of all-season tires is that they are built to take on road conditions all-year-round. So instead of having winter and summer tires, you can just have all-season tires. These tires offer a quiet ride, good tread, and year-round performance, no wonder they’re so popular. But are they the right choice for your vehicle during the winter? All-season tires have to offer good performance in a variety of weather conditions, which means they have to compromise some summer and winter performance capabilities. When it comes to driving in the winter weather, having the tires matter. With ever-changing conditions, making sure your tires can provide traction is extremely important. The argument for winter tires is simple, they are specifically made for winter weather. According to the pros, the combination of cold temperatures, ice, and snow can be best met by winter tires. Below you see the specific features of winter tires that make them unique: tread rubber, tread depth and patterns, and biting edges. The Tread Rubber - In extremely cold temperatures, the tread on All-Season tires stiffens and becomes less able to provide sufficient traction. Winter tires are designed to remain flexible, allowing the tire to grip the road better. The Tread Depth and Patterns - Winter tires offer the unique feature of deeper tire tread and unique tread patterns that reduce snow buildup and provide better traction on the snow. All-Season tires do not offer deep tread and unique designs. Biting Edges - Winter tires also feature an increased number of biting edges, which are thousands of tiny slits in the tread that provide traction on ice. So what will it be? Winter tires or All-Season tires? That will depend on where you live and how much snow and ice you’ll be seeing this winter. If you only see flurries and occasional slick roads then chances are you can probably get away with All-Season tires, but it is important to rotate your tires and replace them as needs. However, living in a place where you see a good amount of snow throughout the winter season, it might be a good idea to shop Winter tires to help give you peace of mind this winter season.
