Volkswagen and Scott Speed Extend Rallycross Contract

Fans of the Volkswagen Andretti Rallycross team will be excited to learn that team principals have officially extended Scott Speed’s contract for a further two seasons. This extension was made official right as Speed and teammate Tanner Foust are preparing to compete in the seventh round of the 2015 Red Bull Global Rallycross Championship.

Speed and the team hope to continue his success from the past two seasons behind the wheel of the No. 41 Volkswagen Beetle GRC. Last year, Speed claimed a third place victory in the championship finish and so far this year, he took home a second place finish at the season opener in Fort Lauderdale and two second place finishes at the recent doubleheader in Detroit.

“I’m super excited to re-sign for another two years with Volkswagen Andretti Rallycross,” said Speed.  “I’ve been lucky enough to be able to surround myself with an awesome crew and support team; everyone here feels like family. My experience with the team over the last two years has been an amazing journey,” added Speed. “We’ve continued to make strides in the development of our program and we’re ready to begin to assert ourselves as the dominant team in this sport.”
