2017 VW Golf SportWagen Page Released
The 2017 VW Golf SportWagen has been outlined in a new Research & Review page from King Volkswagen for all of our customers from Gaithersburg, Rockville, Bethesda, and Germantown, MD.
The trims on this model include the S, S 4MOTION®, SE, and SEL all of which have a turbocharged 1.8L Four-Cylinder TSI® Engine that generates up to 170 horsepower and gets up to 35 MPG EPA estimated highway.

How To Clean and Maintain Your Steering Wheel
We have good and bad news for you. The bad news is that you probably aren’t cleaning your steering wheel as much as you should be. The good news is that it’s super simple to do! The reason you should be cleaning your steering wheel more frequently than you are is because everything you touch outside your car, from dirt to germs, can potentially end up on the wheel.
To make sure food residue and body oils don’t make a home on your steering wheel using a bit of leather cleaner on a damp cloth to gently wipe the surface. Rinse the cloth and wipe it again, followed by a dry towel. The second step is to use a leather conditioner on the wheel to help prevent cracks and peeling. Rub the conditioner into the wheel using your hands. Let it sit for 30 minutes then wipe off the excess with a clean cloth. Maintain a clean wheel between deep cleans with prepackaged quick wipes.

VW Unveils Arteon Sketch
While the VW CC had a cult following and fans are sad to see it go, Volkswagen is hoping that another premium concept vehicle will have an even bigger fan base. The new concept car is called the Arteon, a portmanteau of “Art” and “Eon”, which VW will use to designate its premium models, and it will replace the CC and the Phaeton (which never got beyond the concept stage).
Design-wise, the Arteon will feature a “highly expressive, horizontally accentuated brand look”, frameless windows, 19” alloy wheels, LED Matrix headlights, a roomy trunk, and an active information dashboard with a head-up display.
The concept will premiere at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2017.

Trans-Europe Charging Project Backed By VW
In a joint statement released last week, Volkswagen Group, along with Ford, BMW, and Daimler, revealed that together they will begin working on a project that will build a number of charging stations along major European highways. The collaboration will be an important step toward the adoption of EVs throughout the mass-market. The goal is to quickly build a large number of fast-charging stations in order to facilitate long-range travel for battery electric vehicle drivers.
Volkswagen Group’s Audi and Porsche brands will be part of the joint venture. “There are two decisive aspects for us: ultra-fast charging and placing the charging stations at the right positions,” Porsche CEO Oliver Blume said in the statement.
The project is slated to start in 2017 with an initial target of 400 stations across Europe. If all goes according to plan, customers should have access to thousands of stations by the year 2020. “The charging experience is expected to evolve to be as convenient as refueling at conventional gas stations,” the automakers said.
While this venture is to take place in Europe, it may influence automakers to do the same stateside. Keep checking our blog for more information as it becomes available.
