The vehicles in the Volkswagen brand come with an array of impressive features and technologies that are designed to help make your traveling experience much more efficient. While these driver-assist technologies certainly do make things more convenient, they can be a bit confusing if you are not familiar with how they work. Anytime you purchase or lease a new vehicle it can take some time to get used to the new technologies and become comfortable with how they work. Therefore, Volkswagen has released a number of videos that help new VW customers gain a better understanding of some of the functions that come standard in many new VW models.

These videos have been released on the official Volkswagen YouTube page and we have two of them available for you to see below. Check them out to learn more about using the touch screen navigation system and pairing a smartphone with your vehicle. You can also stop by King Volkswagen anytime with questions about technologies in your Volkswagen and we will be happy to assist you.

The 2016 Volkswagen Passat come with a number of impressive standard and available features and technologies that make your traveling experience much more enjoyable. In order to highlight some of these new technologies and their traveling benefits, Volkswagen has released three new advertisements. In one of the advertisements, the brand focuses on the App-Connect feature. This allows you to test hands-free while you are driving, so that you can stay connected while on the go while never taking your hands off the wheel or eyes off the road.

In this new advertisement, we see two brothers try to use this feature to their advantage when their dad leaves them alone in the car to run into the store. The duo thinks that they are being real slick until they discover their mistake and it ends up backfiring on them. As the colder weather sets in, it is important that you take into consideration your driving style. When the roads are covered in slick ice and snow, it’s recommended to drive at a safe distance from other vehicles, travel only when you have to and always keep your lights on at all times. Below we’ve provided some tips that can make winter weather driving less stressful for you.

  1. Avoid Hills: It’s common that hills ice over fast so they should be avoided whenever possible until work crews are able to clear them of snow and slush and put down salt.
  2. Plan Ahead: In winter weather your vehicle won’t respond in the same way it does when you’re driving on dry roads. Start braking earlier, activate your turn signal early to give other drivers time to adjust and try not to alter your direction or speed suddenly.
  3. Slow Down: This tip seems like it would be common sense, but many drivers forget this one fact. Even if you’re comfortable with your vehicle in the snow, and you’re driving on what seems to be a clear highway, it’s nearly impossible to tell the difference between black ice and just wet roads.

Following these three simple tips will keep you, your passengers and all motorists around you much safer throughout the winter. If you have any questions or concerns about how your vehicle will handle the winter, come into King Volkswagen. We will be happy to help!
