Volkswagen to Unveil New Golf GTI Clubsport
This Thursday, Volkswagen will be presenting the new Golf GTI Clubsport at Lake Wörthersee. This will be the official world premiere for this all-new model, which is set to be launched next year in order to coincide with the 40th anniversary of the Golf GTI. For this debut, the model will be near-production ready, but still in concept car form in order to offer Volkswagen Golf GTI enthusiasts of what they can expect from the full production version.
This new anniversary edition model will be the brand’s most powerful GTI ever when it launched at the beginning of 2016. The power output for this model’s performance system is 195 kW / 265 PS, a full 35 PS higher than the Golf GTI Performance. The overall system will have an available boost option that drivers can select in order to provide an additional 10 percent power boost. This along with the vehicle’s top handling ability offer driving dynamics equivalent to what is seen in motorsport.
Included with the increased power features, this model has also been given a new design complete with new side sills, a specially developed rear diffuser, a new front bumper and an aerodynamically highly innovative roof-edge spoiler.
Volkswagen Says Happy Mother’s Day
With Mother’s Day taking place this weekend, Volkswagen is reminding everyone to say a big Thank You to your mom for everything that she does for you. This sentiment is reflects in a new spot that the automaker released showing that it does not matter how you say it, just that it comes from the heart.
In the advertisement we see a little girl picking flowers in a garden and then removing all of the petals and carrying them off to another location. We see her repeat the process over and over until it is shown that she is bringing the petals to her mom’s car. Inside the car, she proceeds to place the petals so that they are sticking out the the car’s air vents. When her mom enters the car and starts the engine, the vents turn on and release all of the petals, showering her in flowers. This may be a simple, sweet act of a child but the care and consideration she puts into creating this special moment for her mom is what its all about.
U.S. April Sales Results Released by Volkswagen
A total of Volkswagen 30,009 units were sold during April 2015 according to a report released by Volkswagen of America (VWoA). The brand also reported that year-to-date sales for the brand have amounted to a total of 109,248 units sold thus far. The award-winning Golf lineup had the most successful month with a combined total of 5,508 units sold, which is a 206.3% increase over Golf family sales from last April.
“We are encouraged by the performance of the Golf family, delivering the best April in15 years, and happy to see the momentum is amplified by the addition of the Golf R and Golf SportWagen joining the lineup,” said Mark McNabb, chief operating officer, Volkswagen of America.
April Volkswagen Sales:
- Sales of the Jetta Sedan increased by 5.4% with 11,440 units
- Sales of the Beetle Coupe reached 1,237 units
- Sales of the Golf increased by 109% with 1,739 units
- Sales of the Golf SportWagen reached 1,228 units
- Sales of the Golf GTI increased by 97.2% with 1,905 units
- Sales of the Touareg increased by 3.7% with 619 units
- Sales of the Golf R reached 327 units
- Sales of the Tiguan increased by 20.2% with 2,402 units
- Sales of the e-Golf reached 309 units
2015 Volkswagen Tiguan – “Prom Night”
Going on a date, or to prom as a teenager can be exciting and awkward at the same time, even more so when you have your dad driving you in the front seat. What most teens may not realize, however, is that parents are much more understanding about young love than they might think.
In a new advertisement for the 2015 VW Tiguan, a young couple is being escorted to their high school prom by the girl’s father. In the video we see them sitting in the back seat unsure of how to act and dad takes it upon himself to do some fancy maneuvering that helps them break the ice.

MotorWeek Retro Review – 1989 VW Cabriolet
MotorWeek offers a series of Retro Reviews on their Youtube page, which features classic reviews on from their series, hosted by John Davis. The videos in this series include video reviews from the late eighties and early nineties, offering car enthusiasts a fun throwback to some of the classic and most popular models from those time periods. 2015 VW Golf SportWagen – Audio Pairing

The video starts out by explaining how to preset up to fifteen stations in the audio system and how to change a preset when you want to mix in a new station. The video then goes on to explain how to use the Bluetooth® Connectivity to pair your smartphone, offering instructions for both iphone and Android phones.

VW Releases Two More Old Wives’ Tale Video
Previously on this blog, we have shared videos from the Volkswagen YouTube Channel titled Diesel Old Wives’ Tales. These videos take a humorous look at some of the myths about driving a diesel vehicle. In the two newest installments, the three sisters, and one surprise guest, show that not only can the Passat TDI Clean Diesel deliver efficiency and power, but it can do it without a terrible smell and that diesel is not synonymous with poor gas mileage.
