Buzzfeed recently released a fun decade-themed road trip guide for the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s. Surprisingly, the 60’s-themed trip goes right through our area so we figured, why not share it with our customers and readers? We’ve highlighted the stops they suggested below. For the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s-themed road trips check out the link here.

Start your groovy 60’s-themed drive at the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, PA. Seeing his work is a great way to get in the mood for what’s to come! From there drive southeast through the Gaithersburg, MD area to Washington, D.C. Once there take in the sights of our nation’s capital and then retire to the Watergate Hotel. After a good night’s rest, get back on the road and head north to NYC, specifically the Upper West Side, where West Side Story took place and where it was filmed in 1961. What 60’s-themed… anything… would be complete without visiting White Lake, NY where the famous Woodstock concerts happened?! Lastly, end your trip in Binghamton, NY, where host, Rod Serling, of the popular 60’s show The Twilight Zone called home.

Need a reliable car to take you on this trip? Visit King Volkswagen at 979 N Frederick Ave in Gaithersburg, MD 20879 and we will get you on the road in no time!
