Spring is almost here, and with that comes the daunting yet rewarding task of “spring cleaning,” where we clean out or homes to welcome the warmer months. During this time, many of us forget about our cars, who have also endured the harsh winters with us. If tackling your car spring cleaning seems too overwhelming, Sandy Baker from Love to Know has created a list of the ten most important tips to get you through it. Read the first five on this blog entry, and look out for the next five on an upcoming blog!
- Carpeting and Upholstery: Start with the simple task of cleaning up your interior carpeting upholstery by wiping down the seats with a damp towel. Next, use a carpet-cleaning machine to rid your car of any salt, mud, or dirt.
- Console: Wash the console and clean out cup holders while avoiding getting any electrical connections wet.
- Organize: Get rid of any of the trash or excess stuff in the compartments of your car, then clean out the compartments.
- Windows and Mirrors: Clean the inside and outside of the mirrors using a window cleaner and finish by shining them with a dry towel.
- Trunk: Check the truck of the vehicle by getting rid of any trash or excess stuff that was stored during the winter. Also use this time to check the spare tire and emergency kit. Vacuum the trunk out as well.
