You might not associate Good Housekeeping with car testing and reviews but the media brand has been one of the most trusted names in highlighting best-in-class products, style-savvy trends, and compelling news for 130 years. This month Good Housekeeping (GH) recognized the 2017 VW Golf GTI for the Best New Car Award in the compact vehicle category.
“We are extremely proud that Good Housekeeping magazine has honored the Golf GTI with the 2017 Best New Car Award,” said Hendrik Muth, Senior Vice President, Product Marketing & Strategy, Volkswagen of America, Inc. “The Golf GTI packs incredible value. Its combination of power, design, space, connectivity and fun-to-drive nature represents the best of what Volkswagen has to offer.”
The Golf GTI is powered by a 2.0L TSI® turbocharged engine that produces 210 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. It achieves up to 34 mpg on the highway when equipped with a six-speed manual transmission.
“GH’s engineers have never tested a more practical compact,” said Good Housekeeping. “The Golf won on combined miles per gallon and also got top marks for visibility, a sleek but roomy interior and a tight suspension that helped it hug the road, even going over bumps.”
Test drive the 2017 VW Golf GTI here at King Volkswagen today and see what has GH and drivers in Gaithersburg, Rockville, Bethesda, and Germantown, MD raving.
