With an aggressive look, athletic stance, and efficient performance capabilities, the T-Prime GTE concept from Volkswagen made its debut at the Beijing Auto Show last week. The striking new concept featured more LED lighting than we’ve seen on any VW thus far and 22” wheels, which might not be standard come production time, but looked great on the showroom floor. And speaking of things to look at, the T-Prime GTE concept has screens galore! It included a 12” gauge display, 15” center infotainment display, 9.6” screen between the two back seats, and a 10.1” tablet behind both front seat headrests. Performance stats include:
- Fully-electric range of 31 miles
- Gas-electric fuel economy is 87 MPG
- Zero-60 MPH in six seconds
- Top speed of 139 MPH
VW said in a press release: ”This SUV show car combines the best of many automotive worlds: the comfort and spaciousness of a saloon, the superior traction of an off-road vehicle, the agility of a sport sedan and—thanks to innovative drive technologies—the efficiency of a compact car.”
